The Battle at the Yellow Stone River

After the head long tussle
The grey bison struggled with head ache
His mind confused with strength
His brain surrounded with water
Around and around, he went
Amidst the current, floating
His nostrils fighting to find air
Submerged, he would rise
Only to sink down below
Moments like this repeating itself

The sunset came
And others left the scene
Nothing but river noise as the grey bison
Rises from the ashes of salt
Up into the fresh warm air
As he steps onto solid ground
His strength gone with the river
It’s time for rest, time to sleep
Time to recover all that was lost

New World

Come out of space
Like a star, exist within
Though forced to take lies
Mad-made deceit blended with truth
Totaling only to product

Like a star, I exist within
Shinning all while I burn bright
With greatness
If I cease for the moment
Back again, I return like I had never left
Watch me and see God
Living within the bones
Through salvation
My spirit exists to walk on
The bridge between existing and,
The place called infinity

Further With Your Passion

Go with it a little further
Further past the bricks of schools
With it, grab that hunger
With it, grab the bad time
Combined, they come
Those damned nightmares
Full force, they haunt your mind
But that’s the life of a visual mind
The life of a soul designed to capture modern times
The life of a soul destined to paint
Forging pleasant ways for the future times

So, go with it a little further
That fire burning through your soul
That hunger that forces your words to bleed out pain
That gift that keeps you warm during the cold
With it, excel further past the naysayers
With it, fill your cup and live up your dreams

You’re almost there,
Almost there

Alive

What does it mean to stay alive?
Alive to breathe the air
Alive to hear the traffic of Jersey
Alive to form the rhymes of life

It means to be one with mistakes and progress
Alive to understand that perfection
is a path that leads to eternal living

From the bottom of my life
I see my ways
So I plant my seeds now
To reap the blessings afterwards

My tuition is an intuition to be real
One with my heart and soul
One with honor and respect
Expelling pride, exorcising greed
From my mind, to the voice that leaves my throat

After Hours

Listen to my beat
Whisper to my ears
Below the wind
Comes the heavy silence
A drought of sound
Snow flowing down below
Its weight guided and molded with air
Footsteps all around the walls of houses
From afar comes the break of midnight
Bringing back with it the noise of fire crackers
Melodies that fill up this full cold night

On the street, running to the sea
Hoping to catch the will left by life
Through the snow, boot stamps scattered around
All leaving imprints for the coming of the sun

Voices of Faith

I once arrived at a junction where
Balance is rejected
Either cold or hot, they say
Accept or pile up hate
I understand life is not understandable
Just too many contradictions

We’re all in the final frontier
Second after seconds
Day after days
Year after years
All pushing each other for a piece of space

Through the skies
We type in our troubles
Punch in our fears
Questions all floating in the clouds
Hoping that God will see our dilemmas

I have finally arrived at rest, where peace reigns
As I go through life, answers will come
No doubt, but for now
I’ll lay down my worries
Do well to others
And exchange my questions for faith
For only the maker of earth holds the balance of life

Safari Memories

While driving around one summer afternoon
The thick sand from the previous night’s storm filled the air
My mind wondering as the desert street appeared
The gutters rising with the waste-away smell
Along the sidewalks, children played with water
Their faces full with laughter and glee
So unaware, so unaware, their minds were
As my mind drifted on and on, thoughts began to fill me up
These young ones were next in line to save the world, I pondered
Their bright wide smiles troubled me, asking me questions
Questions needing answers; answers I have refused to use

One summer day, about noon or so
While drifting through the desert streets
Children played along the road
Laughter in the air, as they chased each other about
Their smiles care-free haunted me, asking –

β€œWhere’s your own quota of life?”
β€œWhere’s proof you fought for our souls?”

As the heat poured on skin
These questions haunted me making my mind sweat

β€œWhere’s your quota, Mister?”
β€œWhere’s your grain of sand?”
β€œAnswer us, Mister?” Their voice asked me in unison.
β€œWhere’s proof you left earth fighting for our souls?”

One day, it was
When the evening had come, night about
The desert streets now empty
Those children long gone,
Some to their mother’s warmth
The rest gone to the desert coldness
I walked along the streets
My mind reflecting, glaring inwards
My voice shaken by their smiles awakens
β€œLong time, no see” I say to it
β€œThanks for calling me back,” it replies back to me.

Shattered World

jacob-wrestling-with-the-angel-1866
The glass has been broken
Lost in a fraction of space
Bound by the stars of night
The sun’s gone and the dark nightmares are abound
Laying siege to those left on soil
Shrines destroyed, priests without souls
Beneath the ruins, the green slime slides
Entraps all hearts causing the mind to rage with fever
Headless horsemen roam these dead empty streets
Running over the blackened black water
Yes, mayhem is the man of the hour
Climbing up, pitch high
The end is near
Humans claiming god parade our lives
Stealing bread from those lacking water
Eating brains from the cube like box
Where’s the power above the clouds?
The one with a gate made of gold
The one that has no stains
Where’s the power that holds no ransom?
But in his hands, are souls meant to die
Bring down the lightning, if you must
For tonight you must hear me
You must hear my insanity free itself from this world

Free me, let me burn with the impending doom
I seek no true truth, but in the little I know, I must rage
Free me, let me burn with the incoming peace
Sanctify me now from your chains
And I just might call out your name when the empathy’s just right

Beat Laments the World

When the sea rages, its back to the old soul
The time for eternal living begins
The power of latitudes collides
Creating a union, where minds collaborate
Forcing a state, where spirituality settles
So where do you stand?
In the heat? Or in this place called peace?
Regardless, balance must moderate
