Star Lights

Fast forward

Everything in ones twos

Pace of a matador facing red

Our legs barely land

Then soar

Our bodies left behind

Watching as we rise

Stars lighting up the night sky

Moon illuminating our minds

In this moment

Whether we stumble

or

kiss at the start of rain

No matter

Only after

The aftertouch

Hands locked

blemishes on knuckles

Sunlight burns

and mortal sins

Only after

When we return

Back onto bodies

will we feel and realize

that the longest part of life

lies away from these hearts.
